A family enterprise project for over 65 years, with the intention of ensuring the transfer of ancestral and traditional smokehouse recipes from the Trás-os-Montes region. The project was developed in different growth phases and always following the technological developments with regard to production, hygiene and safety, thus determining the company’s current production and marketing system standards.
With a constant bet on maintaining traditional flavours coupled with innovation in the manufacturing processes and the hygiene and safety of products, the company has developed a strong connection with the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) where several studies were developed on traditional Trás-os-Montes smokehouse products, such as the implementation of methodologies of hygiene, food safety and the products’ duration of validity.
The adaptation, development and innovation confined to the Aleu brand enabled it to maintain the assumptions that led to the creation of this family project, while continuing to ensure the transfer of traditional Trás-os-Montes culture. The recognition of the excellence of its products and flavours combined gave the Aleu brand a statute of quality and confidence which has been guaranteed by customer satisfaction, which has always been an integral part in the successful dynamics of the company’s history.
